ALL THE TOP PLACEHOLDERS: THIS IS NOT SELF-LOVE
Occasional Narcissism is a fairly normal sight, especially in front of a mirror! Me too, I am not a perfect person either. The story of Narcissus is not appropriate to ‘Narcissistic Personality Core Replacement Disorder’. Yes, they are self-obsessed and feel entitled but it does not necessarily show all the time. This is not self-love: their loathed self has been abandoned by them and replaced with a hideous core that they all have in common. Zombies with a persona? Possibly. They each live within their distorting bubble, a singular world where they can do no wrong.
They are true and constant masters of method acting and can deceive others for decades or a lifetime. Are they sufferers? Well, I guess we all suffer from betrayals of love and our other positive emotions can hurt but they only suffer from envy and the other negative (I often say ‘below the belt’) emotions. Even then their suffering is immediately replaced by the urge to revenge or to punish. They are active, predatory, though sometimes staring blankly like a snake mulling over its coming nourishment.
Mental Health workers will never meet one as a patient. Narc’s are happy to have great advantages over ‘normals’. Their minds are clearer without the positive feelings like empathy that others have to cope with and that extra space enables them to think quickly and widely. Even those who are not so intelligent are very quick-witted opportunists and will skillfully sum people up even as they meet them for the first time. They feel at a distinct advantage over non-NPCRD’s as they can run rings around them by remorseless lying, shameless cheating, social triangulations, word-salad spewing and ‘gaslighting’ – all of which skills they are truly expert at.
Some symptoms of a dangerously Narcissistic Personality Core Replacement leader:
Failure to listen – hearing but with minimum internal attention, sometimes failing to engage their long-term memory
Failure to consider all alternatives (‘there is no other way’)
Arrogant (sometimes slithering towards impulsive)
Opposition to compassion
Predation, all stripes
A strong sense of entitlement that breaks surface intermittently
Good cognitive abilities mingled with cognitive dissonance (as found in all tyrants)
Occasionally inaccurate memory recall, sometimes to the point of disbelief
Zero acceptance of personal accountability
The urge to deceive and betray their political supporters and/or those politically supported by them
Compartmentalization and isolation of influential others
Insistence on putting issues about politicians or polities into fully-separate labelled boxes
Haughtiness, grandeur, self-aggrandizement (but capable of acting-out the completely opposite tack)
Lofty and often mythical ‘façade management’
Hypocritical emphasizing of their high level of commitment, which is non-existent
Constant pathological untruthfulness (to the point of confidently re-inventing the past because they cannot remember the truth of it)
Consistency of outward personality over a very long time (not quite the norm as most people are open to modifying an aspect of persona in accordance with whatever they have previously experienced)
A disintegration of personality in old age (possibly morphological due to constantly imposing on the frontal and temporal lobes a created map of the Narc’s severely differentiated world in contradistinction to an ongoing and wider or ‘more normal’ download)
Willingness to die (and to take others with them) rather than face up to failure
A felt power decline on entering unfamiliar surroundings
Satisfying their ego-monster in the most maladaptive manner they can muster
Apparent populism (mirroring the crowd in public yet not in private)
Executive handling of conflict in an ‘approach & evade’ cycle as they exist in a compromise-driven environment yet are fundamentally anti-compromise as the bubble-world they inhabit requires all opposition to be eliminated
The driven need for a unique position, overt or covert (team leader – ship’s captain – field commander– hero of a mutiny – great betrayer – blazer of the most treacherous of trails) whilst striving for the odor of normalcy as the sainted centre of attention in a socially acceptable family image
Inclined to mull ‘jumping ship’ out of boredom alone/strangely attracted to hidden subterfuge
Reinforcing their own sense of stability by destabilizing someone around them
The mastering of control tactics and psycho-manipulative techniques including – for starters – guilt-making, conjured deprivations, implying or expressing the inferiority of another.
Charmingly dramatic and attractive in the eyes of their followers yet possessing a necessarily delusional worldview and essential inability to accept that they are wrong or that others might be more in the right.
OF COURSE THESE CRACKS IN THE ARMOUR SHOW THEMSELVES A LOT AT THE BEGINNING OF THEIR COURSE AND SO THE NARC LEARNS AT THAT EARLY STAGE TO COVER THEM OVER – BUT NEVER 100% IN PUBLIC AND VIRTUALLY 0% IN PRIVATE.
DO YOU KNOW A LEADER LIKE THIS, CAPABLE OF NATIONAL SABOTAGE?
The two main NPCRD types are the Overt and the Covert. Other types include the Intellectual Narcissist (who must prove their intellectual superiority to their own satisfaction by denying the insights of others, springing pre-planned mental stag-fights, asking tricks as questions etc.) the NPD by osmosis who has picked up the traits of a true Narcissist by living with them (but they can still love) and the submerged Narc who is strictly Covert because their partner is Overt (even urging their own to break up a friend’s happy home because of biting jealousy on their part) but on the departure of that partner they will revert to being openly Narcissistic. A ‘Narc’ will frequently go behind people’s backs and usually becomes the ‘Golden Child’ waging a secret war with their currently chosen candidate for ‘Black Sheep’ of the family. This hidden struggle exists even beyond the deaths of the parents and will involve slyly converting other family members by untruthful triangulations. A Narc parent may scar the child for life by perpetually aggressive responses, regular avoidances and willful, egotistic competitiveness. Of course, the Narc will assume later, without reflection, that they have had perfect or near perfect parenting – that’s why they are so perfect!
A variation on this may be what is driving George Soros and Klaus Schwab who both had Nazi-collaborator fathers and each seems to be exerting themselves to change the whole round world to total communitarianism/slavery of a particular flavour: perhaps to make their lineage more acceptable retrospectively.
The main childhood causes of all this evil are abuse or abandonment that caused either shame that they were picked out for this treatment or guilt that they participated. This becomes unbearable to them until they effectively kill their old damaged self and create a new orderly world in which they are forever blameless, no matter what they do.
